Jeonju National Museum endeavors to conserve and manage systematically the cultural heritages of Jeollabuk-do and to conduct archaeological surveys. In particular, our archeological survey conducted thus far targeted not only prehistoric and ancient historic sites such as Jungmak-dong in Buan and Bangyo-ri in Wanju but also historic sites such as ceramic baking kilns, Buddhist building sites, and other sites related to the Joseon Dynasty. Among them, the Jungmak-dong historic site is the country's confirmed representative marine rite site, offering a clue to the ancient marine rites and events and consequently making it an important site. In addition, Seokjeon Room features heritages related to Seokjeon Hwang Uk, which were donated to the museum by Hwang Byeong-geun. This is important in constructing the information system for the region's cultural heritages.
